Amorphous structures, organic forms and soft colour gradients – which only watercolours can produce in their own right – and the deliberate use of clear lines, grids and geometric patterns as well as recessed ‘islands’ create structures reminiscent of images of topographical landscapes with natural and artificial features.

The series includes watercolours in three sizes: 36 x 26 cm, 41 x 31 cm and 61 x 46 cm. With the exception of two works, pastel, coloured pencil, graphite and pigmented ink were used in addition to watercolour paint. The paper is Arches hot pressed mould-made watercolour paper, 300 gsm.
